La voie de Rocamadour is a variant of the Via Lemovicensis between Vézelay and St Jean Pied de Port. In the village of Châtelus-le-Marcheix, turn left towards Rocamadour. To the right, you continue walking on the Via Lemovicensis towards Limoges.
So you wouldn't be the first to walk the wrong way in Châtelus-le-Marcheix because at the crossroads with the many signposts there is both a shell to the left and to the right.

After 10 to 12 days of walking, you will reach Rocamadour, which is the most visited pilgrimage site in France after Lourdes. Rocamadour is built on a rock and besides the tomb of Saint-Amadour, the black Madonna is a major reason for a pilgrim's visit. From Rocamadour, you can easily pick up on the Via Podiensis at the level of Cahors on a few day trips.

The journey to Rocamadour is a tough camino. You will regularly be rewarded with beautiful views among others in the plateau of Millevaches, the region of haut Quercy and the valley of the Dordogne. Many picturesque villages are also crossed such as Bourganeuf, Eymoutiers, Corrèze, Aubazine, Collonges-la-Rouge and Martel.

La voie de Rocamadour est une variante de la Via Lemovicensis entre Vézelay et St Jean Pied de Port. Dans la commune de Châtelus-le-Marcheix, tournez à gauche vers Rocamadour. A droite, vous continuez à marcher sur la Via Lemovicensis en direction de Limoges.
Vous ne seriez donc pas le premier à vous tromper de chemin à Châtelus-le-Marcheix, car au carrefour avec les nombreux panneaux indicateurs, il y a à la fois une coquille à gauche et une coquille à droite.

Après 10 à 12 jours de marche, vous arriverez à Rocamadour, qui est le lieu de pèlerinage le plus visité en France après Lourdes. Rocamadour est construit sur un rocher et, outre le tombeau de Saint-Amadour, la Vierge noire est l'un des principaux motifs de visite des pèlerins. De Rocamadour, on peut facilement rejoindre la Via Podiensis à Cahors en quelques excursions d'une journée.

La randonnée jusqu'à Rocamadour est un camino difficile. Vous serez régulièrement récompensé par des vues magnifiques, notamment sur le plateau de Millevaches, la région du haut Quercy et la vallée de la Dordogne. De nombreux villages pittoresques sont également traversés comme Bourganeuf, Eymoutiers, Corrèze, Aubazine, Collonges-la-Rouge et Martel.

La voie de Rocamadour is een variant op de Via Lemovicensis tussen Vézelay en St Jean Pied de Port. In het plaatsje Châtelus-le-Marcheix ga je links richting Rocamadour. Naar rechts wandel je verder op de Via Lemovicensis richting Limoges.
Je zou dus niet de eerste zijn die in Châtelus-le-Marcheix verkeerd loopt want aan het kruispunt met de vele wegwijzers staat zowel een schelpje naar links als naar rechts.

Na 10 tot 12 stapdagen bereik je Rocamadour, die in Frankrijk na Lourdes de meest bezochte bedevaartsplaats is. Rocamadour is gebouwd op een rots en naast het graf van Sint-Amadour is de zwarte Madonna een belangrijke reden voor een pelgrimsbezoek. Vanaf Rocamadour kan je op enkele dagreizen gemakkelijk inpikken op de Via Podiensis ter hoogte van Cahors.

De tocht naar Rocamadour is een pittige camino. Je wordt regelmatig beloond met mooie uitzichten onder andere in het plateau van Millevaches, de regio van haut Quercy en de vallei van de Dordogne. Ook vele pitoreske plaatsjes worden doorkruist zoals Bourganeuf, Eymoutiers, Corrèze, Aubazine, Collonges-la-Rouge en Martel.
